^^ Above is the link to the news article about the reasons of the shooting at Oikos University.  Apparently, the shooter began his rampage due to being angry at the director of the nursing program for refusing to issue a full tuition refund.  

How can someone be so heartless to take their frustration out on innocent lives because they couldn’t get their refund?  This has to be one of the worst reasons for taking another person’s life…actually let me change that, There is NO REASON to take away a person’s life.  Only God should have the ability to do so, no one else.  Again, my prayers go out to those involved in the incident and I do hope that justice is fulfilled.

Hearing the news of the shooting that occurred in an Oakland University is very tragic to hear as it is so close to all of us who lives in the Bay.  Whenever we hear about a shooting and see the details of who were injured or murdered in the situation, we usually don’t think or pray that anyone close to us were involved in these shootings, but from reviewing my facebook I noticed that Lydia H. Sims were one of those who were killed.  I personally do not know Lydia, but she was a familiar face as she attended the same High School as I did and was in my Graduating class.  For me, it is just so tragic to hear how a former high school student of mine was harmed.  It is usually the last thing on mind to think that anyone around me would be harmed and that it just doesn’t seem possible to see something terrible to happen to anyone I know.  However, we live in reality, and in this reality unfortunate events happen.  Usually I would pray for the souls who have now departed and heading towards Heaven, along with the family who had to see their loved ones go, but now since someone close to home was involved, I give my condolences to her family and pray for her soul.  

These things are so unreal and sometimes it just doesn’t seem possible that someone you once knew or someone who is was just a familiar face could be gone in an instant.  It just reminds everyone that anything is possible and that anyone close to us or even ourselves may be gone in an instant.  That is why it is truly important to cherish everything you have right now and to enjoy the life you have now.  

Frustrated, nervous, and a slight need to pee defines everything I felt, but I knew that there’s no other way out of it and this was my one and only chance to make an impression.  Seeing smiling faces and open arms, I knew that things were starting off good, but I still needed to make my performance to represent who I am.  In the end, I was rewarded with cookies & oranges, and I knew that I did it, that I made it through.  Feeling accepted, it was a shame that I had to go, but at least I was able to leave with my head high, as I announced my appreciation multiple times and again was given a farewell.  

One day, I hope to make an appearance once again; not as a complete stranger, but more as a familiar face.
